When Dallas and I go on trips we buy magnets. That’s our big souvenir, magnets. Not very exciting, but usually cheap and small. We move a lot, so the less crap we have-the better.

Thanks to loving and generous grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends Taryn and John often travel without us. They used to buy us little trinkets from their trips. For the most part, they travel with money we gave them, so they’re buying us crap we don’t really want with our own money. (One exception is an I {heart} Jack Bauer shirt that I sleep in almost every night.) Anywho, we told them if they insisted on buying us gifts, a magnet is the best choice.

This past weekend Taryn, who is only 15, went to a youth conference with our church. The group flew to Portland and then drove to the conference location. In Portland, Taryn picked up a souvenir for us.

Just to recap, she was going to a church (albeit a little hippie church) youth conference.

That’s not normal.
