We’re home. We’re exhausted. John and his team are the State Cup Champions! Woot!! Woot!! I’m proud of him and all the boys on the team. The played well, but more importantly they are all good kids. Appreciative of the efforts of the team manager; Holly and her husband Rocky and the chaperones; me and Marnie.
But. They’re still 15-year-old boys and they act like it. Over the weekend I tracked their behaviors to share with you.
First Category: Gross Things Boys Eat
Milk with honey in it. Tons of it, several of them did it all week long.
Powerade mixed with orange juice.
Nutella and honey sandwiches.
Burgers with barbecue beef on them.
This is a sandwich consisting of Nutella, banana, jelly, and honey. Just thinking about eating it made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Seriously. These boys eat a lot. It was gross.
Second Category: Funny Things They Say
“Chocolate Chip Eggos will change your life.”
“Dude, I was dreaming about FIFA”
“I slept for 18 hours because I didn’t want to see your face.”
“Do we have boiled water?”
“Rocky, next time I’d really like more for breakfast.” He was teasing, but Rocky replied, “Next time we’d really like you to wear pants.”
“I’m pretty sure I know John a little better than you, Bridget.”
“I hope it’s ok with you that I just kicked Jackson in the face.”
“I have women to text, so can you tell Holly I can’t come to the team meeting?”

Congratulations, John!!!!!!
That sandwich was gross! Blagh!
“I slept for 18 hours because I didn’t want to see your face.” – LMAO! Where do they think of this stuff???
Congratulations John! and Kuddos to you Bridget for putting up with all those boys!!
I love “I’m pretty sure I know John better than you Bridget!” LOL that was too funny. BTW barbque pork on a hamburger is delicious! The rest of the delights you posted sound gross!! Congratulations John and Velocity! Bridget, you are one brave woman, putting up with all those teenage boys!
Congrats to John and the team!! And congrats to you for surviving! Lol What is the deal with all that honey? Is it super soccer food? Great post!
Oh my gosh this is priceless! I have just entered the teenage boy phase and this post cleared up a lot of questions for me! Congrats on the win!
I have to agree with the last one – composing text for a woman does require a lot of thought…more than is possibly capable for an inexperienced 15 year old. But on the other hand, Woo-Hoo to winning!
Loved this post – teenagers say the most amusing things
Congrats on winning! xo Anja
—CONGRATS!
btw, the nutella and honey sandwich looks pretty GOOD. X
